I went to battle jackson at the trainers area in viridian city. I lost the battle and now jackson is not back at the trainer place. People have told me to go to his house and talk to his mom but she is not in the house. This bug is preventing me from playing the game now and its really annoying.

This isn't a bug, that was a one time battle where you beat him and advance. If you lose to Jackson then you will have to return to Pallet Town and ask his mom to come and move him. His house is the one next to yours.

If you beat Jackson then you are free to move on to Viridian Forest. Head North to Route 2 and continue until you reach the stop house.
