gain of points where it should have been lost

earlier in a battle, i had salamence use dragon claw which failed to ko a crawdaunt, this allowed the crawdaunt to use knock off on salamence(salamence was my last pokemon and crawdaunt was opponent's last pokemon). As the crawdaunt was carrying a life orb, it fainted to the recoil after it'd ko'd salamence. the message which signifies your loss was displayed on my screen but when i went to check my rating, i'd received points instead of losing them while my opponent lost points instead of gaining them when he had the message which signified his win on his end
