After Beating Gary and talking to Oak, Told to talk to Oak in his lab... Teleported back to starting house, walk to Oak's Lab and talk to Oak... He checks my captured Pokemon and tells me to get the Rock Smash TM from his Assistant... I got the Rock Smash TM hoping it would fix it and I could progress to the other regions... Now he just says to go get the TM I already have...

you don't need a text and there wasn't a text.

You never needed to talk to Oak you could have went to johto right after the league.
