I just spent 2 hours leveling a rattata to level 80 to get to Hoenn. After doing the daunting and rather boring task Youngster Joey states that the rattata is not mine, I had no idea what he meant and I did a google search. I found within MINUTES dozens of claims about this dating back to 2016. The OT is blank. Now, this isn't something a person generally thinks to check on a pokemon that they caught. I'm asking for help. Can enough rare candies be provided for me to level a rattata to level 80 again? Surely, Devs can spawn those in.

 

Also I'm offering a solution. Both on google and the discord many people claimed this happened to them. Now, in Youngster Joey's chat box something should be added about this. Simply put in all caps "WARNING: A KNOWN BUG IS AN ISSUE WHERE POKEMON THAT ARE CAUGHT DO NOT HAVE AN OT ATTACHED TO THEM. ENSURE THE RATTATA YOU CATCH HAS YOUR TRAINERS NAME IN THE OT OF THE STAT MENU." This would make it VERY clear to anyone that they need to make sure this is caught before wasting HOURS of their lives on something they have to do again. It'll also cover your end of player's who come across this.

 

As a final note I am a Member and support the game monetarily. I'm not saying I should be treated differently, but I will have a very hard time supporting a game that cannot support me. I do understand it's BETA and will more then likely stay in BETA but there was no forewarning on this. Thank you for your time and have a great day/night
