The controller support needs *serious* improvements...

Featured Replies

I've tried playing PRO with a controller yesterday. Let me tell you, 'twas a nightmare. The controller "works" in the sense that I can move my character around and (mostly) interact with NPCs, but is absolutely useless in-battle, since the game expects you to use a mouse to pick options, and I can't navigate most of the UI using the controller, either. I understand if controller support is a work-in-progress and I apologise if this is something that's already being worked on. I even understand if it's the lowest-priority feature on the staff's list. But as of right now, the feature is almost completely useless, it could just as well not be there.

Use an extrenal mapping program like Joy2Key. You can bind a button to each option (moves, dialogue) and can essentially eliminate the need for a mouse. You can also bind the joysticks to be your mouse, and you can use keyboard 100%. I don't think the controller will ever be fully implemented, as a lot of people play this game on mobile who have no need for a controller, but i'm not staff so can't say for sure.

This is what I'm doing right now. It works, but still -- if the game has an option for controller support, I kind of expected it to just work.
