I can tell it's still function bc I can quit out of it at the bottom right and I can still press the login button if I take enough guesses with the clicker. If you are a Mac user, you may want to try the following; it seems that several people had issues with Mac and the latest client, and that this solved it for most of them: Otherwise: Try to run the game in admin mode, and compatibility mode; also add an exception at your firewall if you haven't already!
