No, Munchlax spawns hasn't been touched lately; when a spawn rate is changed, it's usually stated in Discord's announcements

 

Whether you're using repels or not, Munchlax still is a rare pokemon, so it can take some time to encounter one!

The advantage of using the repel trick is that you won't encounter other ones, thus won't lose time in battles' animations :Grin:

 

You were luckier then than you are now, this is just how randomness works :Shy:

Keep hunting, as you'll encounter them eventually! At least as long as your lead pokemon isn't higher level than the Munchlax spawn, that is ‒so, according to the aforementioned Repel Trick guide, you should have a lvl 23^^

Munchlax at Love Island can spawn up to lvl30
