I joined PRO today and I feel like this game has a lot of potential. Nice graphics, good gameplay, the only thing that bothers me right now: the language.

I'm a native German speaker, played every official Pokemon game out there but never played one in English before. I think i'm a good English speaker but I have problems figuring a lot of Pokemon-, attack- and item names out.

I think this doesn't apply to German speakers only and is a global problem that has to be solved now or later.

 

For the beginning, translating those names shouldn't be a big problem and is done quickly. Texts from NPC's etc. could be done later.

About me: I worked on the German translation of Pokemon Black and White back when it released in Japan but wasn't released in Europe yet. (Fan made, not official.)

 

What i'm asking for is: Translation teams in different languages. I think there are a lot of people out there who want to play this awesome MMO but can't because they don't understand English that good.

 

I got a lot of free time till February and i'm most of the time Online, i would be pleased to have some stuff to do and this seems to be the right work for me.

Well, I'm sorry to burst your bubble, while this would be great, it is just not feasible. If we do this for Spanish or french or German, we will have people wanting it in Cantonese and Swedish as well. Also, scripts are written in English so it would be nearly impossible to translate a script with good grammar.

 

Bottom Line. This is a game written in English, if you can't understand something you can ask someone in the game to try and explain it better.

 

At some point we might translate game rules and such so that they can be read perfectly and we can't have anyone say "Well I didn't understand the rules."
