I can go to the Christmas event from here or on the contrary I have to go to kanto.

If so, how can I get back to Kanto?

Don't worry, you can go back to kanto after finishing the Johto storry! To go back, you can:

 

- Take the boat from Olivine city to Vermilion City

- Take the train In Goldenrod City to Saffron City if you have finished the Subway quest

- Simply walk back to New Bark Town and towards Viridian City

 

Entrance to the Christmas event area is in Viridian City, in the north-east part of town.
