Vulgaris
I bought membership to increase my xp yield and also an xp booster soon after starting. After the xpboost expired i trained a bit with my snorlax looking for a ditto and remarked that the xp yield on route 15 wasn't that bad without xpboost, i then used another one and now the xp boost is causing me to get significantly less xp than when I had only membership. Now I don't know if for the last 3 days I have been gypped out of 3 days worth of xp boost or if the glitch just started today. Nidorinas lvl 25-27 were giving between 13-15k xp without the booster. Purplemauth
Nidorina's (and pokemon in this game in general) don't give a set amount of experience. Experience that you get is based on your pokemons level in relation to the level of the wild pokemon. For example, Level 25 Rattata is able to knock out a level 60 Arbok in Cerulean cave. Rattata will get the max amount of experience which is 150,000 exp. Level 95 Rattata knocks out the exact same level 60 Arbok in Cerulean Cave. Rattata will get somewhere from 40,000 to 60,000 exp. So, if you've been raising something and it started at level 30 (just picking a random number) and you were knocking out those Nidorina's, you presumably leveled a fair amount, to 40 or so? Likely higher? And as a result the exp you recieve is getting lower.
Vulgaris
I leveled snorlax from 31 to 35 i think and was receiving the same average xp from everything i was killing. I popped an exp boost and immediately things dropped by thousands of points on average before i continued to level. Then next 5 levels till 40 also kept the average drop after i used it. In 2 days when the boost expires and my xp yield goes back up would that be proof that there is an issue?
Purplemauth
No. Proof would be you screenshotting the exact xp you're getting from battles compared to before and after. It also differs based on what pokemon you're using, I believe.
Vulgaris
My laptops crappy and won't screenshot. Also to test it i would have to be able to turn the boost on and off at will. I think a staff member could test it and see if its busted. I just want a definitive answer on if it is or not and then I will continue to purchase or not continue to purchase the item. I don't see what i have to gain by lying. those xp boosts cost like 80 cents or something. I feel like you want it to be my responsibility to prove something is broken I don't want this to turn into some hostile thing,I like this game. I just may buy my memberships and mounts and stay away from xp boosts at this point and caution my friends to do the same.
Purplemauth
No no, it's definitely not hostile. Apologies if it came off that way. I understand that you don't want to waste money on something, but ultimately you can't make a claim saying that something doesn't work without proving it. Not only does you posting screenshots help staff if they do see that there is something wrong, but it also gives explicit proof that it needs to be fixed. PRO is a volunteer run game (except for Shane who produced it) and staff have lots of things to. They can't check in on absolutely every claim that's made without some proof to show that there is something worth investigating. If I could make a suggestion on how to check if the boost is working or not: Go to viridian. Catch a pidgey/rattata/whatever. Faint something in route 1 and make sure you keep track of exactly what pokemon you fainted and its level. Mark down how much xp you got with boost on your main server account. Next, log in with your same account but this time onto another server (If you play on red, log in on blue or yellow). Each server has its own save data, so you won't lose progress on your main account. Play through the first couple of minutes, catch another level 3 pidgey or rattata or whatever and faint the same pokemon and compare exp gained with your main account. Staff aren't on the forums super regularly - as I mentioned they have real world things and personal lives in addition to their volunteer time here - and you may not get an answer for a couple days if you just wait, which at that point your boost will have expired. Personally, I don't think there's any reason the boost wouldn't be working, as it's worked fine in the past and hasn't been updated recently, but if you are still unsure then you can try the steps I outlined above.
