The level curves are just screwed up in some places in my opinion, this causes grind sessions to be sometimes even 10 hours long. For example, usually you're gonna be low to mid level 80 levels to fight the elite 4, yet the victory road wild pokemon are weak at level 40s.

Please help us with this, yes i know grinding is part of the game but i don't think grinding should take that long.

Hello,

First i want to say that i moved the topic in General Support so everyone can see the explanation

If Victory Road was filled with higher level Pokemon, for example around level 60, it would simply be too easy to level up your pokemon to 100 and steamroll the Elite 4.

Elite 4 is meant to be a challenging experience and we do not wish for them to become as meaningless as some random NPC. If you do not lose to gym leaders and other NPCs

you should have more than enough experience on your Pokemon to challenge the Elite 4. Failing that, you can always grind in Seafoam Island; Pokemon there are around the same level as in Victory Road but are much easier to defeat.

As you yourself mentioned, the grind is also a part of the game. This is an MMO and final stages of the story need to be more challenging and provide a reason for grinding.

There are several endgame places where you can gain experience much faster than in Victory Road! Those places are there to provide a place where you can

quickly level up your Pokemon to 100, to prepare you for PvP and not make the grind overly tedious. In there you will usually be able to level up your Pokemon all the way to 100 within 30 minutes. Those places are:

-Cerulean Cave

-Dragons Shrine

-Mt. Silver

-Dragons Den

You can look up the requirements for each of those places in our Guides Subforum.

Remember; if you evolve your Pokemon early they will gain experience more slowly! For a faster experience gain you can choose to leave your Pokemon in their first stage.

I hope this clears things up a bit for you,

Have a nice day!
