Hello,

one of my friends has a big problem with playing pro and other games. She has installed a second monitor and now many games (that includes pro) don't start anymore (many steam games too). Pro is the only game with a crash report. I don't know if that is the right area to ask, but if someone has an idea, we would be really happy. Also, since the second monitor, she can only start Discord with the "start via admin" button.

Here is the crazy crash report:

If someone have any idea why she could not start many games (pro included), please let us know :)

Hello there, and foremost, sorry for the inconvenience!

nvwgf2umx.dll seems to be related to a NVIDIA Graphic Card's driver; could you post your friends' specifications?

  • Graphic card's driver
  • Windows version

Also, has she tried to force run the game in DirectX 9 already?

  • To do so, add the argument [c]-force-d3d9[/c] to the shortcut's target, as shown here:

Furthermore, a solution to a similar issue about a year ago on another game (cf. here) was the following:

I went to nVidia Control Panel and clicked on the 'Manage 3D Settings' tab. Then, under Global Settings I made sure all of them were turned on. For the ones that can only be set to Off, Quality, or Performance, I just chose quality. Vertical Sync, among many other options, were turned off in my NVIDIA Control Panel Global Settings, and knowing GTAV uses it, I turned them on. I havent't had a problem since doing this.

Hope it could help your friend out! I'm looking forward for your answer; until then, I wish you a great day

Hello,

thank you for your answer.

As she told me a few minutes ago, it seems that the problem is a specific driver for some usb adapter, she needed for the second monitor. She has deleted that driver and now the can play again. It seems that she must purchase a different adapter or something without some creepy graphic card drivers :D

Thank you for your help. It was indeed the driver :)

Best Regards,

Glad to hear it got figured out!

If you need further assistance/advices about adapters, you might want to ask around in the Tech Corner subforum

Since she got the game working, I will set this General Support topic as solved;

Once again, I wish you a great day
