Enemyisback
Hello. I'm a little new on this forum, and was reading the forum rules while doing my expedition trying to find kangaskhans. The rule about "minimod" its something new for me, because never heard about that. So, what is a "minimod" ? It left me scared because i like to stay on forums more than in the games, and started to respond some threads about bug resolution problems and general support that i think i could help, and i see that only staff respond people here in those area. My question is: This is act like a minimod ? What is a minimod ? Thanks and srry for a newbie question >.>

Thanks and srry for a newbie question >.> Hey there, You're allowed to reply to other posts as long as it either provides the answer, or if you're in the same situation and can provide further informations about the issue for others to help better. Otherwise, it just drowns the informations in useless posts and makes it harder for people to reply accurately. Staffs (CCs, mostly, because they're the most knowledgeable regarding storyline overall and troubleshooting issues, but anyone can) are the main ones replying to these posts simply because players are playing the game or chilling on the Discord server, or just don't particularly have the will to help others, or simply don't know the answer thus don't try to but still follow a bit the forums. About minimodding, it would be like quoting rules to players infringing them, while threatening them of a punishment, stuff like that; players should only use the report function to bring staff's attention to such posts so they can remove them and deal with the user accordingly, while a player doing it just bring more chaos to the original thread, really :P On another note, I'm glad to see a new forums nerd (here used in a non-pejorative way) willing to help others! Anyways, hope I could help clearing some points out and I wish you a nice day
Haneroze
Minimodding is essentially acting like a mod, while you're not actually one. A clear example would be pointing at people saying that they're breaking the rules and will get banned for it. While someone could be minimodding with good intentions, there's many cases where it really does not help a situation, especially if handled poorly. For example, say there's a flame war that broke out in a thread, and someone tries to jump in and ask to stop. It can very well happen that they'll drag the minimodder in the flame war instead and just worsen the whole thing, whereas a mod would have more impact with the ability to hand out mutes, or simply lock the thread if he or she judges it has gone too far beyond control. That's why there's many places that ask not to minimod. If you see someone breaking the rule, just don't participate and notify the mods with a report. They'll know how to best handle the situation. I don't think there's any problem to replying to bug reports and similar threads. If they wanted only the mods to be able to reply, they would have made these threads private like the complaint area. Just act as a player by sharing ideas or providing more information, and not as a mod. I'd say an example of minimodding in that section would be saying something like "Not a problem, lock the thread", as that could offense the thread starter. But in general, the main worry for this rule is the example I gave above.
