Can't continue Goldenrod quest

Hey guys,

So in the Goldenrod Quest you are suppose to get into the basement by speaking with Michael who lives beside the Department Store. I spoke with the Officer in front of the Radio Station and he told me to "Speak with Michael for more information, he lives beside the department store". Well when I go to speak to Michael he doesn't give me the option to continue the quest. Instead he tells me he is on break and to check out his department store. I went onto youtube and watched a little video on how to do that part and Michael is suppose to give you an option to advance the quest.

Is there anything that can be done to help me out? I really like this game and enjoy it, but I literally cannot continue playing. Its pretty game breaking :/

Thanks!

Hi there,

I've checked your inventory and it appears you do have the Basement Key as well as the Fresh Water, so please try to continue on the story normally: Your next step is to deliver a Fresh Water to the guard and have a Pokémon that knows sleep powder in order to knock the guard out in the Department Store basement. You can get Fresh Water from the vending machine at the top floor of the Goldenrod Dept Store. As for Sleep Powder, you can get an Oddish, or evolve a Caterpie into a Butterfree and train them to learn Sleep Powder.

After acquiring both the Fresh Water and a Pokemon with Sleep Powder, you may now head to the basement to subdue the guard!

For future reference, you can also look at the Johto Walkthrough and follow the steps listed there. Let me know if any problems continue to persist.

Lastly, I'd like to add to keep your issue to one thread; please do not make multiple topics on one issue as it veers on spam.

Kind Regards, Astraea.
