If you have a black screen instead of the login screen when you start your game client, here are the quick steps to follow for an easy fix:

1. Change your desktop screen resolution,
   
2. Launch your PRO game client,
   
3. Revert your resolution change back to your initial one.
   

Note that this is not a fix to the "stuck at loading map screen" issue, for which you will have to create a topic about, if you encounter it.

If this does not work, can you try adding the -force-d3d9 argument in the shortcut's target? If so and it still does not work, could you try to do the same but with -force-opengl instead?

 

Lastly, sometimes permissions on C: can be restricted and tricky, as it hosts the sensible files notably mandatory to run your OS itself. I suggest trying to move your game folder to a different hard drive partition and see if it works.
