Doukz
Apologies if this is in the wrong thread or whatnot. I've been having a lot of fun playing this game, it's amazing! But I've gotten three TROJAN:WIN32/Critet.BS viruses on my computer in the last couple of days since I downloaded this (and I only downloaded this), and the files it had affected were from Poke'mon Revolution Online. I wanted to play this game (even though I had only just got past mt.moon) but... I've deleted it until I can resolve why downloading this from the main site gave me a trojan virus. If it helps, I had turned off windows security for like a minute to add PRO into the exclusions folder because that was supposed to help remove the whole map loading forever, not compile viruses aha. Any help is appreciated as I'd love to get back to playing this game! The alert from your anti-virus was merely a false positive that was triggered and your computer is safe as long as you are downloading from the official download links. The reason why there is a false positive in the system is due to how we obfuscate our code to make our client more secure. As most viruses are also hidden in the same manner, the anti-virus detects it as a potential threat anyway. I hope this clears up your concerns; if you want to do any further testing, you are free to test do some testing; here's a Guide on Troubleshooting False Positives; VirusTotal is also a good site as another check to determine a possible virus. Feel free to test PRO files. As quoted in the Issue Guide:For those who are running any OS below Windows 10: Delete your PRO files Disable Microsoft security essential/Windows Defender Unzip PRO current version again Add PRO folder to the "exclusion list" of MSE/WD Enable Microsoft Security Essential/Windows Defender For those who are running Windows 10: Disable Windows Defender Unzip PRO again Add the folder to the "exclusion list" of Windows Defender Re-enable Windows Defender The source for both workarounds listed above is here. If you're running Windows 10 and the above workaround doesn't work for you, alternatively try this (source here): Have your Windows Defender on Remove the files and unzip again Open the game and close it Go to the Windows balloon in the right corner Open the virus scan Restore the quarantined file Open the game again, it should work now. To avoid doing this in the future, add the game folder as an exception in your antivirus. At the moment, these are the current known workarounds, so let me know if they work for you. If not, more details on the problem you're experiencing will greatly help me troubleshoot this with you. Kind Regards, Astraea. Doukz
thank you very much! Yeah, I did the guide (the one for below Windows 10) and still got the alert, which is what probably confused/worried me aha, potential viruses always scare the heck out of me. I'll be sure to follow the guide!
