Piloswine bugged using Rare Candies?

Recently I caught a Piloswine, and I wanted to evolve it into Mammoswine, I have Ancient power in my move-list, and then I rare candied the Pilo and was not prompted to evolve, It's at the point where I'm going to be sitting there for atleast an hour leveling it, do I have to level it via exp, or do rare candies just not work. Not sure if that's suppose to be a bug or anything.

You just need to beat a wild poke and it will evolve.

It's not a bug its just a way that many evos work in pro.
