i've tried downloading the new launcher but when i extract the files frm the .rar some of them get deleted by norton sicurity, my antivirus.

Hello,

Your Norton Antivirus is falsely flagging PRO files as viruses. Don't worry, PRO files are safe. To install PRO, turn off your Norton while extracting, then add exceptions to PRO files in your Antivirus.
