I was trying to complete the quest yesterday but when I try to pickup the The mossy blob it won't let me. Instead it just says:

Would appriciate any help that could be given on why I can't pick it up.

Sorry for the great delay of response; have you already gotten the scanner from Sailor Wendy on Abandoned Ship 1F? The scanner is necessary in order to pick up the mossy blob.
