cant teach a pokemon a tm it should be able to know

hello i use bulbapedia.com for my pokemon info and it says that shiftry can learn rock slide in gen VII. so i was trying to teach my shiftry rock slide and it wont let me is there a reason or a mistake? keep up the good work its fun with what you guys have done so far

Shiftry can learn Rock Slide, but he needs to be taught Rock Slide using a TM; he cannot learn Rock Slide from a move tutor. I've tested using TM48 - Rock Slide on my own Shiftry and can confirm that he can learn Rock Slide

 

 

To obtain the Rock Slide TM, you can buy it from Goldenrod Mart for $3,000 PokeDollars. The TM number is 48. If you have any further questions, let me know!
