Currently, the player can use the rod while out in the middle of the lake/ocean while surfing. Keep it like this! I always hated that you had to be on land to be able to fish.

Secondly, the 3 different rods should be able to catch different Pokemon, as well as different levels obviously. Perhaps there could be some kind of skill system that will allow the player to use the great rod and super rod after mastering the lower level rod. Example, the player will have to hook 250 Pokemon with the Old Rod before being able to use the Good Rod. I don't like how PWO did it where you need a skill level of 50 before being able to hook a Dratini. I think you should just have to have the skill to use the Super Rod to be able to hook a Dratini.
