Bag Lag - RIP Shiny [LOCKED]

Hello, I am reporting an issue and loss from bag lag. While hunting for Chespin in Vulcan Forest, I encountered the shiny pictured above. The game froze and failed to respond, as it commonly does when the bag gets opened for the first time in a while. The screen is faded white from the windows prompt waiting for something from app. While I did just catch a Shiny Butterfree a day or so ago, it was neutral nature. The impish sync would have probably made it rip, but some chance would have been better than the chance I got...which was none because it took so long to respond it I had to close the program.

 

I usually don't face a loss; however, I know people besides me have as well. We all have those stories of the rares we'll never know because our bags never loaded in. It's not the first time for me. Considering how rare shinies are and the fact the last one was bunk, I feel pretty down on my luck after that. I imagine recovering it is impossible now. I caught screenshot this time, hoping it can be fixed soon. I'm looking at another 8k+ encounters probably just for another chance at a shiny.

Sorry for the inconvenience that occurred due to the Bag Glitch. Unfortunately, we haven't found a fix for the bag glitch, however, as long as you don't spam click on the game, the freeze will resolve itself and you should be able to use your bag items after the freeze is over with. If you click the program while it's frozen, it will likely cause a crash, which is likely what happened here.

 

In the future, if your game freezes when opening up the bag, it's important to not click anything, as the client will sort itself out in a matter of seconds. There is little PRO Staff can do to fix this glitch currently as only a full Developer would be able to. The best we can do is let the player base know about the glitch, so that they can avoid it by opening their bag every 5-10 minutes when farming, or simply waiting out the glitch without any mouse inputs.

• Bag Glitch and Crash
  

This glitch is caused when there was a change in your bag items from the last time to the first time you open that during a battle. When you click the bag during the battle the client will have a small crash (most of the times gets solved just by waiting a few moments) as it is updating the bag information.

The longer the time between each opening of the bag the longer the crash will be, players usually experience it when running from a lot of common battles whilst hunting for a rare pokemon.

To prevent this issue open the bag every 5-10 minutes in battle, as it will maintain your bag updated.

Again, I'm sorry you lost a shiny due to the glitch—and I completely understand your frustration too—but PRO Staff cannot spawn you one as it would be essentially giving you an entirely different Caterpie than the one you presumably would have caught, as we cannot check the stats of uncaught Pokemon. As there is nothing more I can do for you, I'll now lock this topic and I wish you a good rest of your week!
