Hey guys, due to the 4th Johto Arena being such a big roadblock, (I mean, leveling to level 30+ with level 10-15 wild pokemon? srsly?), i decide to level and[/hr] farm for Heracross in the National Park. Meanwhile, i would take notes on the encounter rates of the wild pokemon there. This is the result, a list of pokemon i encountered and their quantity, until i finally found a Heracross. Starting at 04:00 ingame time, been farming until 19:00 ingame time: Pokemon / Encounters / expected rarity / ratio Caterpie / 54 / abundant / 30% Sunkern / 48 / abundant / 27% Pidgey / 48 / abundant / 27% Metapod / 13 / common / 7,2% Kakuna / 6 / common / 3,3% Cherubi / 5 / uncommon / 2,7% Weedle / 4 / common / 2,2% Pineco / 1 / rare / 0,6% Heracross / 1 / rare / 0,6% Total Pokemon: 180 Even though i only found one Pineco and one Heracross, i might give Heracross a higher rarity, since i found Pineco way earlier (and stopped searching after finding Heracross.) I also tried to calculate my "unluck"; based on the expected rarity ratio of 1/150 for Heracross. Since Heracross was the 180th Pokemon to encounter, i would rate my unluck, on a scale from 1 to 100: 58,3 Don't ask how i calculated that, it's just to prove a point to my unluckiness ;) Better luck next time!
