Fixed levelling would also be a very healthy addition to the game, because if levelling a pokemon takes 3 straight hours in Seafoam everyone is just going to level the "Strongest" dudes and we'll wind up with Smogon x100 for the endgame.

We've got two reasonably large ones running on slightly different topics and a handful more that have been made and locked, so I think a poll might be in order. It's no secret that the balance in PRO is a touchy subject, but threads seem to quickly devolve into name-calling and personal attacks for no discernible reason. Yes, this is an MMO. MMOs are generally grindy, but is there a point in a huge grind if the MMO itself is free? I tend to lean towards lightening the load (At least towards the beginning) and putting the difficulty in the gym leaders, trainers and the (Actually quite neat) boss trainers. I admit I mostly just wanted to put a poll up, but other than that both wild pokemon power and XP to level/penalty for evolving are valid points of discussion. Please try not to be a jerk about it. You can choose multiple options!!

Between the XP curve complaints and this, I think the community could afford to lose the attitude when it comes to constructive criticism. Getting swept by a Rattata is not particularly fun in my opinion, and while I wouldn't especially mind the difficulty being turned up I don't believe "Status quo or GTFO" is the way to handle stuff like this.

Evolving has the side benefit of making some Pokemon more tolerable to level, and keeping up with the balance status quo of the games. If you want it to take longer or to be a grind, just triple xp requirements or something. It's much easier to explain than evolutions suddenly being miserable to level (Which again is not explained to new players anywhere) grinds are a side-effect of mmos, not the core mechanic. if this mmo doesn't charge a subscription fee, why are you forced to spend so much time in it to get anywhere? why not make it a place you want to be because it's fun and enjoyable, rather than because you have to. For the record I do like a bunch of the changes to gym leaders even if misty with ice type attacks was a nasty surprise, put more things like that in rather than "You must spend this much time doing nothing to ride" signs
