Recently I was challenged with this glitch; playing on a old or not updated version of the game, yet still begin able to play the game. This caused every Npc trainer/script that was interactive to freeze my character in place. This would only apply on the areas that were update, since i was playing on a older version that conflicted with the current. For example : lavender town. I began to notice that every time I restarted the game, the checking maps would fail, and the download would fail. So after a while I ruled it off a problem on PRO's side. I decided to check the website, and the website was down as well, on all devices. When I asked a close friend to check for me, it opened instantly for him. That's when I realized this was COMPLETELY on my end! So after some frustration and a nice amount of sleep, I found the holy grail to resolve this situation, at least for me. Simply resting your IP address will do the trick! The website opened for me and I was able to enter game again! TL;DR: If you can't download maps or get Map downloading error, reset your routers IP Here are some links that can walk you through it based on your router.
