Mysterythekid

Ended up using an escape rope to go back to a pokecenter, I still don't have the pokedex though. If anyone can help me get it id appreciate it.

When I first started the game I forgot to get the pokedex and went all the way to vermilion, I realized tm flash was all the way back in route 2 and i needed to talk to oak about it first to get it from the aide. When i went inside oaks lab i tried to get the pokedex but it said that "I'd better not touch this until i know what it is..." But when I talk to oak he talk to me as if I already have the pokedex and says to go to the aide in route 2 to get the tm. However, when I try to leave the lab he stops me telling me that he has something to say. Now I am stuck in a loop of me not being able to leave the lab without the pokedex but he thinks I already have the pokedex so he doesn't give me the pokedex.
