Hey dude it is called "ev training" you can get 252 evs on each stat to a maximum of 510 per poke (f.e. 252 atk+ 252 speed + 6def). You get 1 or 2 ev per pokemon you kill. It depends on the pokemon you kill. for more information search in the form for ev training
