So, I just started this game and the first thing i wanted to do was give my new Charmander a nickname I always used in earlier versions of the game, but I couldn't figure out how. After consulting a mod and asking about it, they stated that you couldn't give pokemon nicknames because 'people would abuse the system'. Now...I kind of get that, but naming pokemon has been a bit of a core mechanic through the whole game series. And to refute that claim, there ARE lines of code you could use to implement vulgarity filters...furthermore, what doesn't make sense about that line of logic is the user's ability to custom-name themselves...couldn't the same 'abuse' happen there? Also, there's live CHAT which seems to be FAR more easily abused than simply naming a pokemon! I would love, LOVE to see nicknames come to this game, especially as someone who has paid for coins and intends to make more purchases in the future! Thank you.
