*UPDATE* Mew has allowed me to log into the server and as an added bonus, I was also able to participate in the mini event of his (spoiler alert) disappearance.

I am a new player. New as in I downloaded the game 15 minutes ago. In the Character Creation I was curious to see all the different looks for both male and female. This was not possible. As soon as I hit one of the gender buttons the character would reset(understandable) however, I was no longer able to make changes to the avatar. My only option was to force quit and reload the game. After a few minutes of trial and error I was able to create my character. Then I saw Mew. At first glance I was struck with excitement. Am I the only one seeing this? Will I have a newly acquired Pokémon? Mew had something completely different in mind. Once I decided to interact with the hairless fluffball I was paralyzed, completely frozen. The GUI worked fine but the character would not move. Stuck in a fierce staring contest with the cheerful Pokémon I was forced to surrender by logging off. I have tried to log on and I am unable to do so. Not sure if maintenance or just Mew still angry for my staring. I am sorry if this is not the place to put this but I prefer to call it out in the wrong place than not to call it out at all.
