Right... Thanks for the input. The servers are pretty unstable at the moment so perhaps he was hit by a crash and rollback. I've seen plenty of people report Pokemon missing from their boxes due to it. When u log out game forces save and he said he logged out normally...so being rollbacked is nearly impossible that way...so yeah what aRsony said must be the case.
