I just beat gym #8 in johto, how do i get to victory road/the pokemon league with out wasting time?

i play the 32 bit download on my laptop and the game crashes literally every time i run it.

I played the game for a couple weeks and then the screen started freezing, but the game will continue to play in the background just fine and I can control it, but the game screen just won't move with the game. Like I can hear the game being played but can't see it. I have downloaded both the 32 and 64 bit versions, deleted them, and then redownloaded them twice but it still doesn't work.
