What have you already tried to solve the problem? Description and Message Hi guys! Yesterday I encountered this bug for the first time. I was doing the Rattata's hair quest on route 1. I collected at least 6 of them and kept going to the officer. Every time she kept telling me I did not have enough of them. I thought this was due the quest being started several days ago. Just now I looted the nocturnal feather at route 16 and the same thing happens; Yorkie keeps telling me I need to look for Pigeotto on his route. Is this a common bug? Looking into your inventory, you don't seem to have Rattata hair nor the Nocturnal Feather. Please take note you have to take the item from the pokemon and put it in your inventory. You can do so by clicking on the item in your pokemon's information card while they're in your party. I got them by using the Knock off move Hey Succesa, you may be confused about the effect of the Knock Off attack. Knock off removes the item from the opposing pokemon, but you do not get the item. In order to gather rattata hairs or nocturnal feathers, you will have to catch the pokemon or use either Trick/Covet/Thief. If you choose to use trick/covet/thief, make sure your pokemon is not holding any item already so it can safely take the rattata hairs/nocturnal feather without any mishaps. As stated by HellobyexD above, Knock off doesn't allow you to receive the item. You'll have to physically have the Rattata hair/Nocturnal Feather in your inventory in order to turn it in. One way you can do this is by catching the pokemon and taking the item off it afterwards. Furthermore, you can use a pokemon with the move Covet/Thief in order to steal the item off the pokemon. Although, please ensure your pokemon's item slot is vacant. You can also use a pokemon with the frisk ability, which allows you to see if a pokemon is holding an item.
