I played for a short time in 2016 on the red server.

Now I had to merge with the silver server.

After logging in, it seems that I don't have any pokemon left.

I returned to Professor Oak, cannot chose a pokemon (because I already did) and he won't let me leave his lab again, cause he still has something to tell me (but he won't talk to me either...)

Hi there. Unfortunately, you may have been apart of a wipe that happened in the past. Your account would’ve been wiped if it was inactive for a year and had less than 10 hours on it. This was done to stabilize the server due to numerous crashes. Since account was wiped, then we wouldn’t be able to retrieve your data. In this case, we may be able to offer you an account reset.
