Shadowranger Posted August 25, 2018 Share Posted August 25, 2018 THE PLAYER FACTION SYSTEM The Idea: To allow players to experience a faction system or in other words to experience complete freedom and express their choices and reap the fruits of those decisions. The idea is the creation of several factions and majority groups which players can interact with and perhaps align themselves with, this concept allows the players to experience future events based on their prior experiences and allows them to experience a unique tailor made storyline. Through this system your decisions will lead you to where you are, your choices will decide who you become. Perhaps you've always had something dark within you and like to steal pokemon and ambush players then team rocket is for you! or maybe you just love earth and believe that the expansion of land is the way to go! run your sun teams and your sand teams cause team magma is for you! or maybe just maybe you've always loved the oceans and love to frolic in the rain! Get your drizzle up cause team AQUA is for you. Those may even not be all the choices because with this kind of storyline lies unlimited possibilities, you could even be a spy or a renegade, who knows? The Mechanics: In essence a player must initiate a set sequence of quests with several branching option sub quests, the player although can only complete some quests but not others. Eg he chooses 1 he cannot choose 2 or vice versa. After picking the first sequence of quests and completing them, the player will be led into further optional tasks in the same format, such is created a loop of quests and eventually as the player makes decisions and progress his alignment is decided and tailored ingame events are initiated for set player. A simpler way to explain it is if you ever played Adventure Quest by Artix Entertainment where a player's alignment is shown in the form of a compass with north being good, south being evil, East and West being their own individual qualities. As you play the game you are met with choices and based on what you choose the needle titls in the favor of one side over the other, I believe that concept is what we need in pro. Where plays can ambush players, battle for money, steal each others pokemon and just experience the element of true chaos. So they can perhaps figure out where they stand in all this will they slip into the desolation or rise up as hero's of the fallen. I guess for what I'm suggesting to be possible a new Map will have to be created and it would be a pvp Zone, where players can fight when they make eye contact just like the npcs. Perhaps if u press space on another player in this zone it initiates a battle.
