Hunting Suggestion

Featured Replies

Hi! I had an idea while endlessly running from remote hunting spots to pokecenters to check my catches. (I get excited, don't judge me)

I'd love it if the game allowed us to "catch and release" after examining a recently caught pokemon's data. I'm assuming the only reason the /release command only works in pokecenters is to help avoid mistakes, but having the ability to keep our party clear while hunting would be a godsend.

I don't know if its feasible since I'm not a coder, but to a layman it seems like it would be easy enough. It would help anyone who is trying to hunt for pokemon based on their data, as we wouldn't have to spend time traveling to check mons or emptying boxes upon boxes of rejects. (I'd say this would help almost all players with at least 100 hours).

As for pros/cons: The pros are that it seems like an easy change that could help players with the issue of overflowing storage while our devs work on mass release. It would also help most hunters by allowing us to see when we actually get what we're looking for. The only con I can think of is that good mons might actually enter the market at a slower rate since people would just stop hunting after catching what they need rather than filling another box or two, but that could also be a good thing since lower supply would bring prices up depending on how you look at it.

An alternative suggestion would be the ability to view the most recently caught pokemon's full data regardless of whether they're in a box.

EDIT: For clarity, what I mean is to be able to release recent catches in the wild. Maybe before they're assigned an ID
