I just read the thread about EVs train.

In that thread it said if you use macho brace it halves speed.

What is really meant that?????

Macho Brace is mostly used by EV Trainers. It reduces speed in battle meanwhile it doubles the EVs gained to the pokemon

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

I would like to inform you that, as you stated, Macho Brace doubles any effort values that are obtained by the Pokémon holding it during a battle.

However, as a counterbalance, during a battle it also halves the speed of Pokémon holding it. Take note that the speed of the Pokémon holding is halved only during a battle, therefore the item affect only your in-battle speed and not your IV or EV speed points.

Having a lower speed in-battle means that, if the enemy Pokémon has higher speed than your, then your Pokémon will attack after the enemy one.
