I am student I want to participate in the battle ui design I have a question we need to submit a working prototype or just design is enough?

id like to throw in an idea if possible why not a system like how the games played out like where it shows your character aka the main character of the story in those games throwing out the pokeball but in a much better fashion where it can adapt to any style of the person wearing their clothing yet still feel like its still your character to you i would also like to add that 3d being a possibility into looking into as well but i honestly prefer the pixel style that majority of us grew up with thank you.
