I encounterd this exact bug as I was opening the game for the first time today

Hi there. Sorry for the inconvenience. This is a common bug that affects new accounts and is currently being looked into. However, there is no estimated time as to when this bug will be fixed. Nevertheless, you can keep an eye out in our Official PRO Discord for updates regarding PRO.

 

To address this bug, we will simply be mailing you a Magic Mirror. A Magic Mirror gives you the option to customize your character once again, much like the customization at the start of the game. To obtain the mailed Mirror, you'll have to open your mailbox. Usually, there is one in every city. Afterwards, there should be a message inside. Open it and at the bottom, you should see "Attached Items". Simply clicking on the item will put it in your inventory. Do note that you cannot open the mailbox until you have completed the 4th gym, which can be found in Celadon. To help you with the story, you can always check our Kanto Walkthrough.
