OHKO moves. No sleep clause. Berries working wrong. Broken psyshock. No calm mind tm. The list is big...

 

Leaving out borken moves and the absence of tms we still have 2 major problems. There is a reason why smogon has implemented the respective clauses to deal with these problems. Neither involves any strategy or team synergy, just use the move and hope for the best. Sure its risky, but sometimes it comes off and every time it does it has a negative effect on the battle scene. As i understand it, ranked is supposed to be won by the most skilled, not the luckiest. If you feel otherwise, by all means forget clauses, but be prepared for people to leave the game. Why bother wasting all that time to get that perfect iv/nature/ability poke for your team when any all iv 1 bad nature poke with a ohko move can just come and one hit it? Sleep is just as bad, people just spam hypnosis all day and hope for the best. If you do feel ranked should require some skill, please at least remove ohko moves. Otherwise take down ranked battles until you do.
