This crater looks realy promising if only had a Pokemon or item that could help me out please help

Those are Dig Spots. You can find anything you need to know about them on ourPro Wiki Site for them. You need a Pokemon that knows the Move Dig and 150+ happiness. Then you can interact with them. Here is where you can find the TM for Dig and / or what Pokes can learn it from Level up or by TM.

Then your Poke probably fainted and lost happiness. You can check your Pokes happiness by entering /happy 1 into the chatbar while 1 is for the first Poke in the Party. You can also do /happy 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6. You can read everything about happiness in this PRO Wiki Article. It also tells how to gain happiness :-) Soothe Bell doubles happiness gained. You can get a free one from Celadon Office 3F from an NPC.
