I'm having difficulty with finding the mega stone. The staff guide says to interact with the trees for clues and I have but cannot seem to find it.

Black X are trees that tell me I'm close. Red X gives nothing and blue X tells me I'm too far away.

 

So my questions:

Is the stone in one of the trees or can it be found on the floor, on rocks, on walls?

Do I need to have an abomasnow in my team to be able to find the stone as the guide doesn't say?

 

Any help would be appreciated.
