I was battling brock and my mega salamence fainted so i revived my salamence but it was in a form of salamence, not mega salamence.

Isn't the salamence not supposed to lose it's form after fainting if the battle ended?

Hello @sryu1,

 

You can only Mega evolve your Pokémon once per battle, meaning that, if your Mega Pokémon faints, you will revive its regular form while being unable to Mega evolve it a second time. Once that battle has ended, you are able to Mega evolve it again during the next one. Salamence will retain its regular form outside of battles. I hope this answers your question!

oh ok. but for other pokes, if the mega pokemon fainted, it still had the mega form when i revived it, was that a bug then?

Yes, that behavior was incorrect and is now working as intended. Upon fainting, a Mega evolved Pokémon will revert to its regular form.
