so i didn't not fight Steven in Hoenn after i beat the elite fours and instead i talked with the professor and he teleported me to a room and now when i spoke to him he said error

My apologies for the inconvenience. I have forwarded your issue to the Scripters and they are working on it.

However, it seems you properly beat Hoenn's Elite Four and you can now continue your adventure onwards Sinnoh, starting the Access Quest in NPC Paul in Lilycove City. As we have checked, you seem to have the correct story progress and you will not need further assistance on the matter 🙂
