in ecruteak city (johto) and lavender town (kanto) are shops where u can buy clothes too like hats , caps and more. they cost about 30k to 100k pokedollar

As the others have said, there are places around where you can buy clothes, but I would really recommend dropping $10 on PRO. You support the developers that do a great job and you can start yourself off with a hat/costume/mount/membership. Its very very much worth it!
