When using the move Flare Blitz on my Arcanine, he takes recoil damage twice. First, he takes it when the move goes off, and then he takes it again when the words "Arcanine takes recoil damage" pop up. Here is a small .gif of what I mean. https://gyazo.com/4eed960af94e306b0cacd24335703372 And as a side note, I opened up the stat page for Arcanine during a battle to make sure this wasn't just a visual glitch, and his hp does indeed drop two times throughout the use of the move.

sounds like a bug..cant think a solution. just use leftover item :D

Well, that is not a bug but a visual glitch.

 

The first drop shows the hp after the whole damagecalculation for that round is over. After that you will get a second drop which shows you the REAL recoil damage (hp before the first drop - Now) . After that you get the leftovers recovery

 

The order how the client shows you these hp changes is indeed messed up, but to prove i am right just try it without leftovers... you will only see that you wont get two drops but just one sincé there is no recovery.
