after waiting for night to fall I started the quest with the child but now the detective does not appear and does not let me enter the tree, the dialogue next to the tree is: "it fells like a creppy presence around here ...."

The detective can change place if you lose the boss inside the tree or if it dawns, when you find it, make sure you are using 6 grass-type pokemon, preferably with endeavor or mirror coat/counter
