Talked to the guy, said I didnt want the move and it still took 2k from me, none of my pokemon have the move either, worth maybe having a look at since its at the start of the game. Is it also possible to somehow get my money back?

It literally says when you talk to him that once it brings you to the Pokémon selection screen he takes your money. And he cannot refund it even if you say no. Unfortunately that money is lost. Sorry <3$

I'm sorry that this happened to you, but we do not refund issues like this.

 

The NPC takes the money after you initially agree to learning the move, if you then decide that you no longer want the move and don't teach it to your Pokemon, you still lose the money.

 

To avoid this in the future, I'd recommend researching the move first (bulbapedia/pokemondb) to be sure that you want to learn the move first.
