Reputation system

Just an idea i had recently,

 

I think it would be nice if there was a way to upvote players for being helpful/ friendly/ etc, it could be done by clicking on the player and clicking a commend button or something. This would help people get reputation for being helpful in chats and in game and could possible lead to getting a chat moderation rank or something along those lines.

 

However, i don't recommend adding a negative rep system instead as it could be abused, you could perhaps add a in game report system. Or maybe not due to immaturity \_(o.o)_/

 

None the less i'd like a commendation system just as something to show that I am active in the help chat and other players can trust myself and other people :)

Hey you know that sounds nice, Heck I could have done a lot better knowing who to ask as a new player & I do agree that the negative rep would be abused, Though is it too possible that people would boost/abuse a positive rep system? Probably, Never the less the idea has spirit and good intentions. :y: :Light:

I don't see how you would implement that in the chat interface without disturbing the balance of needed information that's been delivered.

If everyone got a Rank like MOD/ADM a quarter of the chats space for possible information would be wasted, spam would get even more of an issue because of less space. I think at least Reds Community is good enough that you can bypass such a system. Most ppl help thoroughly through PM and tell ppl to add them to their fl and ask questions any time, at least that's how I do it.

Now imagine a new player asking a simple Question who then gets 5-6 different chat windows appearing on his screen, I can't imagine it's convenient that way.

Nice Idea for the super honorary PRO scout who wants his medals displayed in public, mostly insignificant or even contra productive for everyone and everything else, that's my opinion.

I understand how people could boost reputation but it could easily be countered with a report system for false reputation, people who make threads like +rep for +rep and people who ask for reputation in game for money or something could easily flagged up. :)

You're right, but i'm sure the developers could make the chat box a tiny bit bigger to fit a medal section. I'd also be sure they would only let you display 1 medal at a time. :)
