It will cost you 5k to travel to someone on the same region as you to get there and back to where you were... This is not expensive. If you want to go to jhoto it will cost you 5k and unless you get into any Poke center there you will have to waste another 5k to get back to Kanto(10k total just) This is not that much to be fair...
