I was just wondering if there was a perfect map to farm magikarp? All the maps I've been to, using old rod always produces magikarp but the frequency of appearance is so low. But if I use a good rod, I start to see Goldeens, Tentacool, etc.

 

Is there a place where I can use Good Rod but be assured of only seeing Magikarp? Or perhaps a place where even if I use an Old Rod, the appearance rate is relatively high (I don't know how the appearance rate varies by type of fishing rod).

If you want a shiny Magicarp/Gyarados, just be patient and stay at Lake of Rage for a long time. Then a shiny karp will appear and smiles at you. (Coz this lake only has karps)

 

The more pkm u encounter, the higher rate for you to have a shiny :Shy:

During the day only magikarp spawn
